Frequently Asked Questions

We are working on putting together our FAQ page. Please don't be too critical since this is our first cut at it, but if you have any questions, comments, etc. email us, and we will be happy to answer it and possibly add it to this page.
  • Why we do it?
    • We like to help. We've been there, up late at night, trying to figure out a problem and looking for an easy tool to use. We hope this site is it for you. We also have kids that come to us all the time for conversion questions when doing their homework and we wanted a safe and easy to use site for our kids and others to use.

  • How does it work?
    • Start by visiting our Formula Conversion page or by typing in the unit you would like to convert in the search bar in the banner. Once you see the conversion you are looking for, either mouse-click on it, or use your arrow keys to highlight and hit your 'enter' key to select it. This will take you to the conversion page where you just enter the amount you need to convert and we do the rest!

  • I don't see the metric conversion or currency conversion I am looking for?
    • Double-check the name or abbreviation you type, note there may be differences for items like cubic centimeters. You can also go to the category, for example if it is a Length conversion, then click on any Length conversion or the 'Length' link on our Formula Conversion page. You can then scroll through the list of units we convert.

    • Some examples of search terms variations you can use:

      • kilometers to miles
      • km to miles
      • km to mi
      • us dollar to japanese yen
      • usd to jpy
      • centimeters to feet
      • cm to ft
      • cm to feet

  • I created an account and all my favorites and GPA inputs disappeared
    • Unfortunately, your favorites were stored in cookies, but when you create an account and login, your information is pulled from and saved to our database. We do not read the information in your cookies when you are logged in. This is a one time issue though. Once you add your favorites and GPA inputs while you're logged in, you'll never have to re-enter them again.

  • Why should I create an account?
    • Without an account your favorites and GPA inputs are saved in cookies. These are local to the browser and computer you use, which means you cannot access your favorites from two different computers or from your computer and cell phone. With an account, your favorites and GPA inputs are saved with your account and can be accessed anywhere.
